We Started Wrong
Screenplay by: Courtney Fernández
A writer offered the opportunity she’s longed for, and an actor trying to balance expectations and his career, find chaos is a path to each other.
“We Started Wrong” is an original drama about two people at pivital points in their careers, who have an unconventional beginning to their relationship, but ultimately end up exactly where they were meant to be.
Haejin and Hyun-min find that undeniable attraction is the easy part to starting their relationship, but building faith in each would be nearly insurmountable to maintaining it. As Haejin arrives in Korea to work on the production of her screenplay, she never imagined that the lead actor, Hyun-min, would be the love story — and tragedy — that would redefine her. For his part, Hyun-min never expected to feel the pressures of protecting the one he loves from the life he lives would be so daunting, nor did he expect that their journey together would impact him so profoundly.
“We Started Wrong,” is a reflection on the way we sometimes make seemingly harmless decisions to satisfy parts of our soul without knowing that those encounters can lead us on a journey of self-discovery with tremendous impact on ourselves and others. What some might call “poor decision-making,” can make us more whole, leading us to connect with the ones we are meant to be with.
“We Started Wrong” is storytelling that takes the viewer on a journey to understand how seemingly harmless encounters can redefine a person’s trajectory in life. Undeniable attraction and finding comfort and love in the arms of another can make a profound impact on the lives we lead. But, only if you are brave enough to hold on.
The screenplay pays homage to the Korean Drama genre of filmmaking, with characters that will stay with the viewer long after the credits finish.
This is the story that will make you remember that “even if you start off wrong, you’ll end up exactly where you are meant to be.”
